The workload in the academic world is toweringly high. Subsidy applications, administration, education responsibilities, publication pressure, insufficient manpower, it continues to accumulate. Many people work in the evenings, weekends, holidays and sometimes even during illness. Research shows that 20% extra work is done in personal time. For a full-time position, this is more than nine weeks of unpaid work per year!
 
Therefore, the VAWO, together with PNN (Promovendi Netwerk Nederland) and PostdocNL, organises a sympathetic action during the opening of the Academic Year on September 4th.

De werkdruk in de academische wereld is torenhoog. Subsidieaanvragen, administratie, onderwijsverantwoording, publicatiedruk, te weinig mankracht, het stapelt zich maar op. Veel mensen werken in de avonden, de weekenden, de vakanties en soms zelfs tijdens ziekte. Uit onderzoek blijkt dat er zeker 20% extra werkzaamheden in de vrije tijd worden verricht. Bij een volle werkweek betekent dat ruim 9 weken per jaar onbetaald werk!
 
Daarom organiseert de VAWO samen met PNN (Promovendi Netwerk Nederland) en PostdocNL een sympathieke actie tijdens de opening van het Academisch Jaar op 4 september.
